GET TO KNOW AND VISIT

Despite the area, today known as “Eurocity of Guadiana”, having been strongly marked by the christian recapture, other civilizations and cultures, professing different beliefs, also found their place and time here. Along our hike through this area we will connect to each one of them and understand the influence they had on the customs ever present at the heart of their communities. When we talk of kingdoms, though, the Christians of Portugal and Spain were predominant and bequeathed the broadest historic and artistic heritage. Religious inspiration is a good motive for a transcendental experience where we get to know the precious christian places of worship. To add to this visit one must soak in the bequeathed heritage of intangible culture, promptly noted by the numerous religious festivities that take place in Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Ayamonte.
